Update on benefit changes that will take effect October 1, 2014

Good news for PSHCP members! Effective October 1, 2014, the PSHCP will provide coverage for laser eye surgery, certain supplies and repairs for CPAP and BiPAP machines, and an additional $1000 for psychological services. Here are the details:

  • Laser eye surgery will be covered up to a lifetime maximum of $1,000 (reimbursed at 80%) per plan participant. Surgery must be performed on or after October 1, 2014, to be eligible.
  • Servicing fees, repairs, and replacement parts for CPAP and BiPAP machines will be covered up to $300 a year (reimbursed at 80%). Parts can include tubes, filters, masks or cushions. Cleaning solutions and warranties will not be covered. Purchases must be made on or after October 1, 2014, to be eligible.
  • The maximum eligible expense for psychological services will increase from $1,000 to $2,000 a year (reimbursed at 80%). For the year 2014, expenses for services provided on or after October 1, 2014, will be eligible for reimbursement up to the additional $1,000. In 2015, the maximum eligible expense will be $2,000 for the entire year.
