The benefit enhancements that were announced in March 2014 are now in effect. As of October 1, 2014, the Public Service Health Care Plan provides coverage for the following:
CPAP and BiPAP parts, repairs, and servicing fees: 300$ per year, reimbursed at 80%. Purchases must be made on or after October 1, 2014.
Corrective laser eye surgery: $1,000 per lifetime, reimbursed at 80%. Surgery must take place on or after October 1, 2014.
Psychologist services: $2,000 per year, reimbursed at 80%. In 2014, the top-up of $1,000 applies only to expenses incurred on or after October 1. If you live in an isolated post where there is no practicing psychologist, the expenses can be applied to the services of a social worker.
