The Plan Administrator

Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada, the Plan Administrator, is responsible for the consistent adjudication and payment of eligible claims in accordance with the Plan Document, and for service delivery as specified in the Administrative Services Only Contract.

Sun Life is therefore responsible for positive enrolment, claims processing and payments, retention and management of Plan member information, and member communication services such as operation of the Sun Life Call Centre.

Sun Life has retained the services of TELUS Health Solutions to provide electronic claims processing services, which enable pharmacies to submit claims directly to the Plan when members fill their prescriptions.

In addition, Sun Life has a contract with Allianz (formerly known as both Mondial Assistance and World Access Canada), which is responsible for managing claims and inquiries from Plan members who are residing or traveling abroad.
